Tim Forderer

Senior Management & Leadership

Captain Tim Forderer is a full time volunteer supporting the General Management of YachtAid Global.

Captain Tim Forderer, and YAG founder, Mark Drewelow have enjoyed a collaborative friendship for over nine years. The friendship was born when Tim phoned Mark from Komodo Indonesia, asking if Mark wanted to partner on building a fence around the Komodo Island School—to keep the dangerous Komodo Dragons from attacking the young children! Since that time Tim and Mark have initiated and executed many humanitarian projects all over the world.

Captain Forderer epitomizes the compassionate individual committed to helping others in need. YAG has often collaborated with Captain Forderer on planned developmental projects as well as disaster relief campaigns that must be quickly mobilized.

He brings to the YachtAid Global team, senior leadership and organizational development skills from 12 years working with a leading wireless service provider. In addition, Captain Tim Forderer has spent the last 12 years as Captain of the sailing yacht VIVID. During that time he has sailed around the world 2.5 times including trips to Greenland, Svalbard Norway and Antarctica.

Along the way Tim’s humanitarian work and collaboration with YAG has been focused on delivering a wide variety of supplies and donations, mentoring young adults through Captain Tim’s “Do What You Love” motivational leadership talks, and the delivery and demonstration of using Clean Drinking Water filter kits.

In April of 2017 Tim was awarded the YachtAid Global Humanitarian Award.
