Disaster Relief

Disaster Relief & Recovery

Superyachts and their professional crews are uniquely effective in delivering disaster relief to remote coastal communities, often reaching areas that traditional aid cannot access quickly.

Built for long-range cruising and self-sufficiency, these vessels carry significant fuel, freshwater production systems, and advanced navigation equipment, allowing them to operate independently for extended periods. The combination of mobility, autonomy, and skilled crews allows superyachts to provide rapid, flexible, and impactful support, bridging critical gaps in disaster response efforts and helping isolated communities recover more quickly.

Since YachtAid Global’s inauguration in 2006, disaster relief has been a primary function of operations. The opportunity to get the right aid, to the right people, at the right time, with the unique assets that the yachting community is available to provide.

“Caring for the people and the environments of the coastal communities around the globe who share with us their land, sea, and spirit.”

The Grenadines

In response to Hurricane Beryl in 2024, YAG launched an initiative to support communities along its route to recovery. Initially, working to provide relief housing and educational supplies, the islands, and the reefs in the area are still in need of help.

Jamaica

In response to Hurricane Melissa in 2025, YAG has been working on multiple levels including housing, conservation and sustainability through the support of the fishing industry, providing repairs to their boats.

Mexico

The Phillipines

YachtAid Global is working with community leaders on the ground in the Philippines to access the needs of the peoples affected by Typhoon and deliver emergency aid. This “Super Typhoon” Rai/Odette, packing winds of over 260 kilometers, wreaked havoc across the archipelago, causing widespread damage, flooding, and casualties.

Turkey

In response to the devastation from the series of earthquakes in Turkey and Syria on February 6th, We’re focused on providing shelters for those who lost their homes, and specialty items such as heaters, blankets, infant care foods and needed medications and medical supplies.

The Bahamas

Hurricane Dorian devastated the Bahamas with catastrophic winds and storm surge, particularly on Abaco Islands and Grand Bahama. Thousands of homes were destroyed, lives were lost, and infrastructure collapsed, leaving long-term economic and social challenges for communities struggling to rebuild.
